Seren Mawr Glamping Pod
Seren Mawr is a generous 8m diameter glamping pod with a superb 5m wide window to maximise the magnificent views and light. This is the perfect place to escape from it all for a special romantic break. It is equipped with a brass bed for a restful night’s sleep in crisp cotton bedding on a goose down topper.
A wood burning stove adds to the cosy atmosphere with armchairs to relax in and a dining area to enjoy the meals created in the well-equipped kitchen. Rugs and animal skins litter the floor and feel sumptuous underfoot. Lighting is provided by lanterns, creating a romantic mood.
Whilst supper is cooking, you may wish to peruse a book, play a game of cards or Scrabble; perhaps pore over a map to plan your itinerary for the next day. There’s even a wind-up radio so that you can listen to the weather forecast or your favourite program.
Cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware are all provided along with a large cool-box complete with ice packs and a wine cooler. There’s a camping cookbook to give you ideas although we recommend that you rein in your culinary ambitions to fare that can be cooked on the double gas ring.
Simple washroom facilities (Ty Bach) are provided a few feet away, including a very smart self composting loo, wash basin and gas powered shower using water from our own bore hole; there is simply nothing taken from The Grid at Seren Mawr. In addition to towels and luxury Myddfai products, bathrobes and clogs are provided to make the 10m trip back after a nice hot shower. An Ordnance Survey map centralised on the local area is mounted on the wall beside the loo so you can ponder your next venture, whilst the windows have been strategically positioned to maximise your enjoyment of the stunning views – nothing has been left to chance.
When you’ve been out all day, whether it be walking in the hills, visiting local attractions or perusing the book shops in Hay, it’s lovely to return for a hot shower and then sit in the hot tub to watch the sun set over the hills and unwind with an early evening drink. If it’s a clear night, there is something magical about reclining on the steamer chairs beside the fire bowl with a glass of wine (or mug of hot chocolate) and gazing up at the stars; it is a Dark Sky Reserve after all.

What Our Clients Say
Tom and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Seren Mawr. It was such an idyllic place to spend a long weekend. You have clearly considered every detail which made it a comfortable and fun holiday. The location is great for exploring the Brecon Beacons but equally it was nice to relax on site with the hot tub and fire.
James & I can’t thank you enough for our wonderful stay @ Seren Mawr. James has had the most special 40th birthday we could have hoped for. Your accommodation and hospitality has been second to none and we can’t wait to visit again. Many thanks,
Wow! What a beautiful stay with everything you need, you almost forget you are camping. The view is breathtaking – especially when in the hot tub with a glass of bubbly. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding areas and eating some delicious food. A truly memorable holiday, we can’t thank you enough.
Thank you so much for the most wonderful stay; the eco-dome lived up to expectations! We loved having breakfast in the sun and wine under the stays (in the hot tub). You are the most fantastic hosts – we will be back!
