This is a simple list of commonly asked questions.

This is a working document and is not exhaustive so please contact us with your queries if they are not answered here and we will add them to the list for the benefit of all.

What is provided?

We provide all bedding (except cot bedding).

A set of towels. Those staying in Seren Bach and Seren Mawr may wish to bring an additional set for use with the hot tub.

Bath robes are provided in the Shepherd's Hut and the glamping pods along with those guests who are staying for a week or more in The Byre.

Myddfai Toiletries:  Hand wash, body wash, conditioning shampoo. The Byre also has soap and hand & body lotion.

For the self-catering accommodation:

salt and pepper, mixed herbs, oil and vinegar

washing up liquid, dish cloth, teatowels, hand towel

For all places:

tea, coffee, sugar, milk and hot chocolate.

The Byre has a Nespresso machine and a reusable coffee capsule

Icepacks are kept in the freezer in the store.  They are primarily for the guests with coolboxes in the geodomes and are available to swap over with thawed ones.  We politely ask our guests to replace the thawed ones before taking freshly frozen ones to ensure that there is a constant supply.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING DISPOSABLE PLASTIC BOTTLES.  We have our own bore hole with delicious tap water.

What is available to purchase whilst we are there?

Supplies of wood, kindling & firelighter, peat, disposable bbq's, charcoal and firelogs are all available from the store.  Payment is by cash (honesty box) or contactless (keep a tally and pay at the end of your stay).

How far away is the nearest supermarket/food supplier?

Brecon is five miles away where you will find Morrisons, Aldi and Co-Op.  For those wishing to organise a food delivery, Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsbury's deliver to us.  If you opt for a home delivery, please give them Amanda's mobile number - 07734722719 - so that she can guide them in if they get lost.

We are blessed with a plethora of butchers - based in Brecon, Hay, Talgarth and Crickhowell to name a few.

How far away is the Felinfach Griffin? Is is dog-friendly?

The Griffin is a mile away, along country lanes - you even have a choice of routes.  It takes approximately 25 minutes to walk there; perfect for building up an appetite before a meal.  They are very dog friendly and will provide a water bowl for your four-legged friend (there are even dog treats at the bar).

How long does it take to get to Hay-on Wye?

Hay is 11 miles away and during Hay Book Festival week (May Bank Holiday) the roads are quite congested.  There is plenty of parking although a bus is laid on for festival goers that leaves from opposite the Felinfach Griffin.

Is Argoed Barns easy to get to by public transport?

The nearest train stations are Hereford and Abergavenny.  From there you have to take one and two buses respectively to reach Felinfach followed by a mile walk to reach us.  We have had guests, especially for the geodomes, who have arrived and stayed put for the whole of their stay.  They seem content to simply relax and unwind and admire the views in front of them.  For the more energetic guests, there are walks to do from the doorstep but you really are better off having your own transport to get the most out of your stay.

 Can we hire bikes?

Absolutely!  We are keen road cyclists and are eager to share our favourite routes with other like-minded individuals.  Bikes can be hired (see Things to Do) and delivered/collected.
